Southern Miss is one of the 16 regional host. UVA , Ark-LR , and  Jacksonville St are in the Hattiesburg, MS bracket. Jax St  was awesome in the CUSAT  and looks strong going into this regional

They didn't have many power conference opponents They beat AUB, lost to Bama, and lost 2 of 3 to Cincy.

Cooper Blauser led  the Gamecocks with 53 RBI.
I'm not ignoring the host but Jax St is the hottest team in this bracket.

ECU got hot in the AAC tournament and opens with the Vols in Chapel Hill. Herring knocked in 51 runs for the Pirates this season.

I caught some of the ECU game. The Pirates bunted home run 3 in the 13th inning, then the Vols tied it at 3.. In the 14th inning ECU outscored them 4-0 for the 7-3 win

Wacky WAC blogs floats toward 2022

 An early looks at WAC hoops shows some positive signs in OOC play. New Mexico St beat Davidson(A10) and UC Irvine(Big West)  and UTEP(CUSA). Cal Baptist beat SJST(MWC). SF Austin beat MTSU(CUSA). 

 Abilene Christian  took TAMU(SEC) to the limit before falling 82-81. Then a reality check, Gonzaga (WCC ) routed Dixie St by 34.

In football Sam Houston St joined the CUSA so they 'll be brief WAC members, and NMST will likely take all its sports programs to the CUSA.

Abilene Christian is having a solid debut season in the WAC. Chicago St is playing better in its final WAC season and hasn't found new conference yet. They're not ready for the MVC. OVC and Horizon are prospects, but I suspect it will be the Summit Conference.

The PAC12 and MWC have reached an agreement in principle to resolve pending lawsuits over “poaching” and exit fees.  And  they've agreed to stay lawsuits in CA and CO while they “work to negotiate and finalize the settlement.”

 DBAP baseball's last season in the CUSA, before joining the PAC12, may end up with the Patriots not making the NCAA playoffs. They are the 4 seed in the CUSAT
