 Battle of the I-10 rivalry of two current CUSA teams , UTEP and NMSU. Last season UTEP rallied for a 42-35 W at Las Cruces.  UTEP holds the series lead at 59–38–2.

La Tech holds a 48–33–6 lead in the series with ULL(SW LA) that started in 1910.  They played nearly every year from 1924 to 2000. It stopped when the Bulldogs' transitioned to the WAC and the Ragin' Cajuns' to the Sun Belt Conference. They have met four times since then and are scheduled for H&H series (2026, 2029).

 They play for Bronze Boot, which was established in 1968 from the boot worn in Vietnam by Dan Romero, a CSU ROTC instructor.

They play this season on August 30 then the series will resume in 2028, with games scheduled through 2035. The two-year gap in the series (2026 and 2027) is due to both teams not having open  non-conference slots in those years.

Since Memphis beat WV(Big 12) in Frisco Bowl, Memphis blew off the PAC 12 and failed to buy itself into the Big 12. Also,  the AAC dropped Athletic from its name  and Tulane got Retzlaff as its QB after his off the field mess at BYU. Is the AC on?
